
The Lagos state govt reacts to viral video of a man claiming a customary court member impregnated his wife after he approached the court to resolve his marital crisis. In the viral video, the man who gave his name as Oluyemi Ayeni claimed that he had an issue with his wife Doyin Rukayat Okunubi and that she moved out of his house. He said they only had marriage introduction done, however he was advised by his wife's father to invest in her business of establishing a school located in Egbeda, which he did with the sum of N5 million. He said with the success of the business, he couldn't control his wife again and this began to cause a rift in their marriage. He said his wife moved out of their matrimonial home and rented an apartment of her own. He alleged that within two months of moving out, his wife began to have affairs with men. ''After ten months I took her to court thinking that I would be able to resolve this matter through alternative dispute resolution. The judge, Doctor Rasaq Ishola Adeyemi, hurriedly dissolved my marriage and got that woman impregnated three months after the dissolution of my marriage. The woman is now carrying nine-months pregnancy for that man. What really pains me is that in the rulings, this man denied me access to my children, tha tI can only see the children in the school premises once in a week. The same children are in his custody. He took over the thriving business of that woman, denied me access to my children, impegnated the woman and still wants to send me to jail.'' Ayeni accused Okunubi of asking the police might to get him arrested, detained, arraigned in court seven in Ogba on the charges of assault and that he spent two days in Kirikiri. Reacting to the viral video, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) in a statement released said it was aware of the case and that the incident happened between 2014/2015. The agency said the matter was investigated and the member of the Customary court was dismissed. The agency said following the video making the rounds, all efforts to reach the complainant have proved abortive. It has asked for help in locating him. The statement reads''"LASG REACTS TO ALLEGED VIRAL VIDEO OF DISMISSED CUSTOMARY COURT MEMBER ,MR ISHOLA RAZAKI ADEYEMIThe attention of the State Government has been drawn to a viral video circulating the social media space wherein one Mr. Olayemi Ayeni ( The Complainant )alleged that a former Customary Court Member, Mr. Ishola Razaki Adeyemi, abused his office by exhibiting unprofessional conduct in a customary court case involving the Complainant and his wife and proceeded to snatch his wife and children from him.The matter which occurred between 2014/2015 was investigated by the Lagos State Judicial Service Commission. The findings of the investigation subsequently led to the termination of the appointment of the Member of the Customary Court.It was discovered that the viral video was posted by “Ogbongefriends” sometime in 2016.Members of the public are informed that the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency has attempted to reach out to Ogbongefriends on their various social media accounts, but unfortunately their accounts have not been active since 2018.
